WHAT WE DO

We go above and beyond to design and build bespoke, fitted kitchens & furniture in the most sustainable way. That's not it though, we aim to make all our services affordable, it can't be a privilege to be sustainable, that's a fact.

WHY WE DO IT

We need to live sustainably for the sake of all future generations, so we take this simple necessity as the benchmark for all our projects, from kitchens to coffee tables.

HOW WE DO IT

Sustainability is complex, so we have thought about it a lot. Our sustainability criteria includes:

- What it's made from - How it's built - How long it lasts - Waste -

See our sustainability section below for more info on how we make sure our products are truly eco-friendly.

Sustainability

reclaimed materials

There are a bunch of amazing materials going to waste in the UK, so we save as much as we can from landfill, taking it from building sites and wherever else we can (legally) get it from.

. We clean it up and use it to create our new beautiful furniture.

local sourcing

When we use any newer materials, we source locally wherever we can. UK timber is wonderful (as long as it's from a sustainably managed source of course) so we use it in our pieces. Whether it's beech from a local London garden, wrought iron from Sheffield or something equally as cool, we'll use it. We're proud that we strive to use materials grown/made in the UK.

new materials

We don't just use any board materials in our projects. We specialise in using the most eco-friendly, long lasting boards, which are - at the least - FSC approved and contain low/no formaldehyde or sovents in the glue that holds them together. One of our favourites is EcoBoard, made from pressed hay!!

eco-friendly finishes

All our finishes are the most environmentally friendly available, with no compromise on quality. Paints, oils, varnishes, fillers, glues are all VOC and solvent free.

Energy efficient appliances

If you want us to install your kitchen appliances we'll work with you to choose the most energy efficient on the market.

Waste management

We re-use and recycle what we can already, in order to create as little 'waste' as possible. However our goal is to be zero waste by 2020.

Clean energy

Being aware of where our energy comes from is important, that's why we use Bulb for our electricity supply in our workshops, guaranteeing at least 50% of the energy used comes from clean energy/renewables.

key Partnerships

We love to work with other organisations who believe in us and our ethos, we're so proud to be working with RAW Workshop on some of our projects because they do amazing work. Their social enterprise directly employs/helps local people, such as those who have suffered mental health crises.

Deconstruction

Designing for deconstruction is incredibly important, we even design fitted pieces so they can be removed and taken to new properties should you wish.
