Abacus design, build and install sustainable kitchens in a range of finishes, so you get your beautiful, bespoke kitchen in a style you love, in the most eco-friendly way, what's not to love about that?

We do everything we can to create the kitchen you desire, from complete kitchen installations to replacing your old door/drawer fronts.

We're pleased to take on projects of all styles and budgets, our goal is to give you the sustainable kitchen you desire.

Below gives a rough guide on how our eco-kitchens are made. Our overall design process for all types of installation is available here.

Our Eco-Kitchen Service

Choose Your Board

All choices can be made in confidence during or following a consultation, firstly we'll talk about materials:

The foundation of your kitchen is the structural material you would like to make it from. Abacus offers a range of timber and board material choices, including:

- EcoBoard®

- Birch plywood

- Bamboo

- Reclaimed timber

Our selection of materials offer different benefits, to understand more about them see here.

Choose Your Fronts

Depending on your board choice you may want to add a cladding to the front of your units.

We offer anything you can think of, from floorboards for that industrial look, to local beech from a London garden. Not only that, we offer whatever style you'd prefer.

To read more on the types of cladding finishes we offer, see here.

Choose Your Finish

Once you have your main materials down it’s time to choose your finish.

Abacus can provide several different finishes, using a range of eco-friendly products. Perhaps you’d like a natural tung oil finish for your modern bamboo surfaces, a zero VOC stain/varnish on some sliced boards, or a chalky paint finish on your rustic local timber pieces.

Choose Your Counter

The finishing touch and a real focal point for any kitchen is the countertop, so we offer several eco-friendly options.

Solid wood counters made from local timbers, recycled plastics or reclaimed lab desks to name a few, maybe you have an idea for something else? We’re happy to work with you to find your ideal work surface.
